GlassFire Magazine
Submission Guidelines
Submit your poetry, fiction, nonfiction, and
artwork
Deadlines for 2014:
Summer issue: June 30
Fall issue: September 30
Winter issue: December 31
Please only submit 2 pieces of prose
and 3 poems per issue. If you
submit more, we won't read them. We just don't have time.
-Your name, address,
and email address should appear on the top right-hand corner of
the first page.
-Your name and page
number should be in the header of every page.
-Word limit:
Please try to keep your stories to 3,000 words or so. If
it's over 5,000 words, we may reject it. Note that we only
pay a flat $10 per story.
-Please submit all
works in Times New Roman 12 point type with 1-inch margins on
all sides.
-Please put ALL of
your poems in the same Word document or email.
-We accept
photograph and scanned artwork submissions. Please submit
your work in .jpg format with at least 300 dpi.
-We welcome all
genres; however, we are not looking for R rated material, so
please do not submit erotica or stories with unnecessary
language or violence.
-GlassFire
does accept previously published work as long as all rights have
reverted back to the author. We do accept simultaneous
submissions as long as you let us know if the piece is selected
for publication elsewhere.
-Despite our name,
PegLeg Publishing isn't big on pirate stories. We'll read
them and, if they're good, publish them, but they won't receive
special attention.
What about
payment? Even though we're
an e-zine, we do pay. Our current rate is $10 per
story/nonfiction piece and $5.00 per poem/photograph/piece of
art.
Email your
submissions/questions to
submissions@peglegpublishing.com. Please use "[name] submissions -
[genre]" as your subject line. Send submissions either as
a Microsoft Word attachment or as plain inline text.
We are no longer
accepting snail mail submissions.
