Resurrection Engines

By Joe Christensen

Pharaohs
dry as desert
stone,
a cross
of heavy planks
and blood,
Shakespeare’s words,
and frozen corpses.

For me –
a taste of split peaches
warm
the scent of women,
enjoyed.
