Common TV/VCR Problems
Problem: The TV/VCR will not come on.
Solutions:
- Make sure that both are plugged into the wall outlet
securely.
- Check all the connections between the TV and VCR to make
sure they are all firmly connected.
- If the cart has a mounted power strip on it, make sure
both the TV and VCR are plugged into it, that it is turned on, and that it is
plugged into the wall.
- Make sure the power for both units is ON.
Problem: The TV screen is
blank.
Solutions:
- Turn on the TV.
- Check all of the connections between the TV and VCR to
make sure they are all firmly connected.
- If the cart has a mounted power strip on it, make sure
both the TV and VCR are plugged into it, that it is turned on, and that it is
plugged into the wall.
- If you are playing a VHS tape, press play.
- Turn the TV off and then back on. This should put the
TV back on the correct channel.
- Make sure the TV is on the correct channel (03).
- Make sure your VHS tape is not at the end of the tape.
Problem: The VHS Tape will
not eject.
Solutions:
- Press eject.
- Make sure the tape is stopped, then press eject.
- Do NOT try to force the tape out of the VCR; contact
Audio/Visual if your tape will still not eject.
Problem: There is no sound.
Solutions:
- Turn up the volume on the TV.
- Check all of the connections between the TV and the VCR
to make sure they are all firmly connected.
Problem: The picture is not
clear.
Solutions:
- Adjust the tracking. The tracking is located in
different places on different television models, so look everywhere. On some
models it is only possible to adjust tracking using the remote control.
- Stop your tape, eject it, then reinsert it and press
play.
- Make sure the TV is on the correct channel.
- Turn the TV off and back on.
If the TV/VCR still is not
working correctly, contact the Audio/Visual department.
