Renovation

Kristine Ong Muslim

All that whiteness on the wall

cannot have any meaning,

so we chip the paint to reveal

twenty-four shades of gray underneath,

whorls and stains that sometimes

spell out our names. Then we hang

the wallpaper, put a bit of dullness to

dullness, and celebrate with wine and roast.
